On Wednesday 27 June, the West Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra (WAYJO) visited Sacred Heart College for a workshop and concert.

They performed a collection of jazz chart hits from the 1930s to 1970s for the Year 9-12 music students and also worked with our College Swing Band with their own charts in preparation for the Catholic Schools Performing Arts Festival. Those students who took part in the workshop gained great experience, confidence and helpful tips from WAYJO.

The concert performed by WAYJO at the end of the workshop demonstrated the level of brilliance that could be achieved through continuous hard work and practice. Most of WAYJO members were from WAAPA (Western Australian Academy Of Performing Arts) and Sacred Heart College will be making a partnership with them for future workshops and concerts.

Thank you to Mr Martino for organising and providing this great opportunity and partnership with WAYJO. Photos of this event are available HERE.
