Congratulations to our Language and Literature team who are now National Tournament Of Minds Champions following their performance on the Gold Coast last weekend.

Our Language and Literature team beat literally 2800 other students from the Pacific region in the world to attain this title. Two of our other TOM teams (Engineering Maths and Science Technology) also made it to the National Finals.

A sincere thank you to our 10 members of staff who facilitated teams throughout the competition. Our teams were successful all-round, with six of our teams progressing to the State Finals and three of them winning the WA section. Ultimately, out of this rich participation one of our teams was National Champions.

TOM problems require lots of 21st Century learning skills like teamwork, collaboration, communication, problem solving and the ability to synthesise. We are very proud of all the students and staff involved and pay particular thanks to Mrs Atherton, our wonderful Gifted and Talented Education Coordinator who is also the WA Convenor of Tournament of Minds – in her spare time! This is a wonderful accolade for all her hard work over many years.
