OUR STORY

Yesterday

Sacred Heart College was a small, traditional and intimate boarding and day Catholic school for girls, founded by the RNDM Sisters. The Sisters were inspired by a daring and courageous vision that led them to take risks and reach out to the margins. The first Catholic school in the northern area of Perth, Sacred Heart College was non-systemic and possessed of its own governance. Its sense of Catholicity and cultural diversity was enriched by its working class families and boarding students. The presence of the Sisters led to a less formal approach to pastoral care, which was based more in relationship between students and staff.

Today

Sacred Heart College is now a large and complex Catholic educational community that serves the northern region of Perth. A rigorous and disciplined co-educational experience for day students is provided by committed staff who encourage the pursuit of excellence across the four pillars and this has contributed to our proud reputation. Recognising our rich history and the continuing relevance of the Sisters’ charism and Gospel values, we live our motto of “Always Striving Upwards”.

Tomorrow

Sacred Heart College will boldly develop an inclusive, innovative, creative and technology-rich culture of teaching and learning that is engaging and formative for all members of our community. In particular, we will seek to provide all students with opportunities to discover their passions as active agents of change for a better world. In the traditions of the RNDM Sisters, the College will continue to be a beacon of Catholic social justice and strive to be the leading Catholic school in Western Australia.
