Our Young Vinnies group, Year 12 students and staff held various activities over the past two weeks to raise funds for the Cancer Council’s Daffodil Day.

Sacred Heart College was chosen as an ambassador for Daffodil Day advertising this year as our Vinnies group has been involved with Daffodil Day fundraising for 20 years.

The Year 12s held a fantastic cake stall at recess on Friday 17 August. Many students baked cakes and cupcakes whilst other students brought in party pies, sausage rolls or pizza. Vinnies students manned the stall. The total raised was $483.

Our Young Vinnies members sold merchandise throughout the week and made a pop-up appearance in the Kiss 'n' Drive on Friday morning. We are thankful to the many parents for their contributions. We sold 75 bunches of Daffodils and 34 Umbrellas on Friday morning, raising $1144.35.

Our staff also hosted their yellow themed Daffodil Day morning tea and raffle on Wednesday and raised $488.

The combined total raised for this worthwhile cause was a spectacular amount of $2115.35.

Cancer touches all people. We all have the opportunity to contribute funds to support the Cancer Council’s research into finding answers to conquer this disease that affects so many.
