Vacancy: Outdoor Education Teacher

We are seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and highly engaging Outdoor Education Teacher/Health and Physical Education Teacher to join our College. This is a full time, fixed term contract for two years commencing Term 3, 2026 (from 20 July).

About the Role:

Sacred Heart College has a long-standing history of high performance and achievement in Health and Physical Education (HPE) and Outdoor Education. The successful applicant will demonstrate their ability to support and foster high performance to continue to enhance the HPE team.

Your responsibilities as include the ability to:

  • Teach Outdoor Education - Year 12 General.
  • Support Outdoor Education camps and excursions.
  • Health and Physical Education to students in Years 7-10.
  • Support and promote a standard of excellence in Outdoor Education Health and Physical Education.
  • Flexible and adaptable in the implementation of differentiation in the classroom.
  • Effectively manage a Pastoral Care Group (PCG).
  • Work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.

What we are seeking:

  • Teach upper school Outdoor Education Studies - Year 12 General.
  • High level of organisational and planning skills to support the College's various Outdoor Education Programs, including camps and excursions.
  • Teach Health and Physical Education to students in Years 7-10.
  • Participate effectively and collaboratively within the current team.
  • Experience in designing and delivering differentiated units of work.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-paced working environment.
  • Excellent working knowledge of the current Western Australian Curriculum to develop effective learning outcomes for students.
  • Active participation in extracurricular activities.      
  • An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.

  • Current 'F' bus licence
  • Current Bronze Medallion
  • Current First Aid Certificate
