Vacancy: Religious Education Teacher
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated Religious Education Teacher to join our College. This full-time, ongoing position commencing Term 1, 2027, offers an exciting opportunity to nurture students’ faith, learning and growth while contributing to the life and mission of our College.
About the Role:
Reporting to the Head of Learning Area - Religious Education, you will be a passionate, dynamic and committed Religious Education Teacher who inspires students to explore their faith and values. You will bring creativity, enthusiasm and purpose to the classroom, delivering the Religious Education curriculum in ways that are engaging, relevant and meaningful, while fostering curiosity, reflection and a genuine commitment to learning.
Your responsibilities include:
- The ability to teach Religious Education to Years 7-10 students and Religion and Life General to Years 11 and 12 students.
- The ability to teach Religion and Life ATAR to Years 11 and 12 students would be advantageous.
- The ability to be innovative in current teaching methodologies, keeping up to date with current pedagogical trends in Religious Education.
- The ability to effectively manage a Pastoral Care Group (PCG).
- The ability to work collaboratively to build rapport with students, parents/caregivers and all College employees to develop respectful, inclusive and positive working relationships.
What we are seeking:
- A dedicated and inspiring Religious Education Teacher.
- A sound understanding of Religious Education curriculum.
- Experience in writing and delivering differentiated programs in Religious Education.
- The willingness and adaptability to apply new technologies and innovations to enhance student learning.
- The willingness to teach as part of a Religious Education team that goes above and beyond for each other and the students. This may involve assisting with extra-curricular activities, clubs, competitions or lunch time catch up sessions.
- Flexibility and adaptability to respond to a fast-paced working environment.
- An awareness and appreciation for the Catholic ethos of the College.
Essential:
- Accreditation to Teach Religious Education or working towards obtaining this accreditation.
Desirable:
- The ability to teach across another learning area would be advantageous.
