Celebrating Scott Guerini OAM (Class of 2024)

We are thrilled to announce that Scott Guerini (Class of 2024) has been awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in the General Division as part of the 2025 King’s Birthday Honours. Scott has been recognised for his extraordinary service to the community through charitable organisations, particularly his tireless fundraising efforts with Scott’s Great Walk for Telethon.

Scott’s remarkable journey began in 2010, at just 4 years old, inspired by a lesson in Kindy. Determined to help sick children, he embarked on a 25km walk from his family farm to town - an 8.5-hour effort following two weeks of convincing his parents. Since that first walk, Scott has covered over 1,100km, including marathons and an 82km international hike, raising more than $220,000 for Telethon7 Perth with the support of his community.

Beyond fundraising, Scott is a published author, motivational speaker, and podcaster, using every platform to inspire others with his motto: “It’s easy to make a difference. What can you do?” His work exemplifies our College’s Core Purpose: “We develop our students to respond to Jesus by striving for personal excellence, having the courage of their convictions and being active agents of change.”

Scott officially received his OAM at the Investiture Ceremony at Government House a few weeks ago, celebrating this incredible milestone on a national stage.

Looking ahead, Scott will once again take on a 50km Treadmill Challenge live at Telethon in the 'Challenge Yourself' Hub inside RAC Arena on Sunday 19 October. Visitors will also have the chance to add their own kilometres to the ‘Community Kilometre’ Wall, with last year’s combined total reaching 188km - Scott is aiming to push it to 200km this year.

Congratulations, Scott, on this inspiring achievement. Your determination, generosity, and courage continue to make a lasting impact on our community!
