Congratulations to our 24 students who represented the College and won six trophies at the World Scholar's Cup Global Round in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, over the last week. Mrs Atherton shared that this was the toughest Global Round we have attended to date, with 2,400 students representing 30 countries - including 1,400 individual Juniors (470 teams) and 1,000 individual Seniors (335 teams).

Amongst the many outstanding results, the below individuals/teams bought home a trophy:
• 🎉 Emmet (Year 10 Thu Duc) - 18th overall Senior Individual
• 👏 Molly, Ereny (Year 10 Carden) & Maya (Year 9 Carden) - 9th overall Senior Team
• 🌟Flynn, Síofra & Meagan (Year 10) - 12th overall Senior Team
• ✍️ Miles (Year 10 Hannan) - 9th Senior Individual in Writing
• 🗣️ Holly (Year 10 Thu Duc) - 8th Senior Individual in Debating
• 🏆 Holly (Year 10 Thu Duc), Makayla (Year 10 O'Reilly) & Jesse (Year 10 Kimberley) - 3rd Senior Team in Debating

PLUS, our very own Mrs Atherton had the honour of winning Coach of the Decade! This award recognises her dedication to our students and the World Scholar's Cup program over the last 10+ years. Well done!

Beyond the actual competition, the students also had the opportunity to visit some key cultural and tourist sites around Kuala Lumpur. They also enjoyed a Global Round favourite, the Cultural Fair, where they traded Tim Tams, Vegemite and Australian souvenirs with snacks and goods bought in by participants from other countries.

Please see today's Newsletter for even more outstanding results from the Global Round.

Many thanks to the parents/caregivers who supported their children in attending the trip and to Mrs Atherton, Mr Budas, Mrs Carrick and Mr Chapman who took time out of their own busy schedules to accompany the students on the trip. GO HEARTS!
