Congratulations to our Year 10 da Vinci Decathlon team who qualified to represent WA at the da Vinci Decathlon National Championships in Sydney in July following impressive results at the Perth round! The College entered three teams of students in Years 8-10 in the Perth round, with great results.
The da Vinci Decathlon is a highly regarded competition which sees students compete in 10 different academic disciplines, including categories such as Engineering, Ideation and Art & Poetry. A total of 28-34 independent, state and Catholic schools were represented in each year level.
The teams and their highlights are listed below:
Year 8s (Archer Whittaker, Evan Buswell, Xavier Da Silva, Rhys Malloch-Brown, Lara Logan, Caitlin Stewart, Cassiopeia Lin, Mitchell Selth)
- 2nd in Engineering (out of 34 teams)
Year 9s (Emmet Kelly, Eamon Stott, Miles Bouwman, James Ryan, Caitlin Beck, Ashleigh Stephen, Síofra Cashman, Meagan Requillme)
- 2nd in Science
- 2nd in Ideation (out of 28 teams)
Year 10s (Taylor Beresford-Peirse, Jacob Smith, Oliver Budas, Jim Sadler, Luca Traynor, Jaime Sadlo, Sonia Orellana Badilla and Kian Cartmell)
- 2nd in Art & Poetry
- 2nd in Legacy (General Knowledge)
- 1st in Science
- 1st in Cartography (out of 32 teams)
